Description

  • Lead, mentor, and grow a multi-site team of 5-10 engineers while staying hands-on with architecture and day-to-day development.
  • Set short-term deliverables and long-term strategy across the infrastructure stack, including upgrades, platformization, and AI enablement.
  • Partner with Product, Design, Data, Marketing, and Operations to deliver strong systems and user experiences.
  • Align with senior leadership on strategy, metrics, and priorities.
  • Champion technical excellence and a culture of high ownership through mentorship, feedback, and support for engineer growth.
  • Drive adoption of AI-development principles and agentic engineering workflows across the team.
  • Own and drive engineering roadmaps, prioritization, and timely execution of cross-functional initiatives.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of software engineering experience.
  • 5+ years of engineering management experience leading medium-sized teams.
  • Experience with performance management, career development, and people logistics.
  • Strong background in infrastructure and platform engineering.
  • Deep expertise with AWS, Postgres, Kubernetes, Redshift, Terraform, Cloudwatch, and related technologies.
  • Familiarity with full-stack development using TypeScript, React, Node.js, GraphQL, and PostgreSQL.
  • Experience with AI-native development paradigms and leading teams through AI transformations.
  • Ability to oversee multiple parallel projects from planning through on-time delivery.
  • Experience recruiting, hiring, and onboarding software engineers.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Preferred experience in EdTech, learner-facing products, marketplace technologies, infrastructure migrations, or fast-paced startup/high-growth companies.
