Description

  • Design, build, and maintain high-quality Android code for projects on the team’s roadmap.
  • Work closely with product managers and designers to move features from concept to implementation.
  • Collaborate with backend, firmware, data science, research, science, and QA teams to deliver complex mobile features.
  • Partner with Android engineers across the US and EU to improve the Android codebase.
  • Participate in technical discussions, code reviews, and platform-level improvements.
  • Take ownership of feature development, including architecture, implementation, release, maintenance, and bug fixes.
  • Support cross-team development by helping improve developer productivity and code quality.
  • Mentor other engineers and contribute to technical leadership within the team.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of professional experience shipping Android apps.
  • Proficiency in Kotlin and modern Android architectures such as MVVM or MVI.
  • Experience with RxJava and/or Coroutines/Flow, Jetpack Compose, and common third-party Android libraries.
  • Experience working in shared codebases with git, branching, and standard code review workflows.
  • Strong focus on quality through unit testing and manual testing.
  • Strong computer science fundamentals and understanding of design patterns.
  • Ability to own projects, design technical solutions, drive implementation, and deliver results with limited guidance.
  • Experience mentoring engineers and improving productivity across teams.
  • Experience with Agile or Scrum processes.
  • 7+ years of experience shipping consumer Android apps or enterprise apps and SDKs, preferred.
  • Previous tech lead or team lead experience, preferred.
  • Experience with tools and technologies such as Dagger, Realm, Sqlite, JNI, PyTorch, TypeScript, Kotlin Multiplatform, BLE, or SDK development, preferred.
  • Experience with functional programming, systems architecture, or performance optimization, preferred.
  • Experience working asynchronously across countries and time zones, preferred.
  • Experience collaborating with firmware teams on hardware-related projects, preferred.
  • Experience with app release management and CI/CD, preferred.
  • Experience developing software for health, wellness, fitness, women’s health, or wearable products, preferred.
  • Experience with ML algorithms, encryption, data privacy, or C++, bonus points.
