Description

  • Architect, design, build, and maintain features for the Oura Android app.
  • Collaborate with engineers, designers, data scientists, product managers, health science experts, and other stakeholders in a cross-functional squad.
  • Refactor existing features to improve code quality, performance, and maintainability.
  • Ensure high quality through code reviews, automated testing, and engineering best practices.
  • Use Kotlin Flows and Coroutines to handle asynchronous programming and complex UI state flows.
  • Own work from technical planning through delivery of working, high-quality features.
  • Contribute to the development and architecture of features and systems with full ownership from concept through release, maintenance, and bug fixes.

Requirements

  • Minimum 8 years of professional development experience shipping Android apps.
  • Strong experience with Kotlin and modern Android app architectures.
  • Experience using Kotlin, Compose, Room, Coroutines, and Flow.
  • Strong ownership of technical planning and delivery for Android features.
  • A proactive, self-directed attitude with the ability to drive complex and ambiguous initiatives with minimal guidance.
  • Experience thriving in a dynamic, startup-like environment with iterative and incremental development.
  • Solid understanding of both engineering implementation and end-user impact.
  • Strong problem-solving, collaboration, and communication skills.
  • Experience with collaborative development on complex shared codebases.
  • Focus on quality through automated testing.
