Description

  • Own the end-to-end design of the GitHub platform, including organization structure, repository standards, branching strategies, and integration architecture.
  • Define and enforce enterprise standards, guardrails, and developer ways of working for GitHub.
  • Serve as the final decision authority for platform configuration, feature adoption, and architectural direction.
  • Design and govern the security and control model, including pipeline-based security, secrets protection, and code scanning.
  • Partner with security and risk stakeholders to ensure controls are preventive, consistently enforced, and audit-ready.
  • Define remediation patterns and convert audit findings into platform improvements.
  • Establish GitHub-native ways of working, reusable workflows, automation patterns, and AI-assisted development capabilities.
  • Provide architectural guidance, standards, and escalation support to the GitHub support team.
  • Review operational trends and recurring issues to eliminate root causes through platform design.
  • Steward the transition from Azure DevOps to GitHub-first delivery and continuously evolve standards and integrations.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience architecting or owning GitHub Enterprise platforms at organizational scale.
  • Experience defining strategic vision for platform evolution, governance, modernization, and adoption.
  • Deep expertise in DevSecOps and secure SDLC design.
  • Experience implementing pipeline-based security controls, including SAST, DAST, SCA, secrets protection, and vulnerability management.
  • Proven ability to design and govern security controls that are enforced through platform patterns and designed for audit readiness.
  • Experience defining scalable, developer-centric standards and workflows, including GitHub-native ways of working and branch/merge strategies.
  • Experience integrating AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot.
  • Comfort operating as a single accountable owner in a federated enterprise environment.
  • Strong collaboration skills with Security, Risk, Architecture, and Operations stakeholders.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for standards, architectural guidance, and executive-level materials.
