Description

  • Set the strategic direction for the Access & Stewardship program and turn broad goals into sequenced initiatives.
  • Own the annual A&S plan, including objectives, major initiatives, and investment priorities.
  • Translate policy context, public lands realities, and stewardship priorities into program strategy with internal and external partners.
  • Drive alignment and adoption of A&S priorities across vertical business teams.
  • Direct customer education and oversee the Adventure Forever Grant Program, including budget and final approval.
  • Own onX’s government relations and policy consultant relationship and convert federal developments into action.
  • Shape nonpartisan policy positions with internal experts and leadership.
  • Identify, manage, and support nonprofit and community partners that advance program goals.
  • Lead Washington, D.C. engagements with congressional offices, agency stakeholders, and advocacy partners.
  • Define success metrics, oversee the annual A&S Impact Report, and present executive-ready updates and recommendations to leadership.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Policy, Environmental Studies, Nonprofit Management, Business, Communications, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 10+ years of experience in program management, advocacy, government relations, corporate social responsibility, nonprofit partnerships, conservation, or related fields.
  • Direct experience in federal policy, advocacy, or government relations, including work with congressional offices, federal agencies, or policy partners.
  • Experience leading complex cross-functional programs or initiatives from strategy through execution.
  • Experience working in nonprofit, public-sector, government affairs, or other mission-driven partnership environments.
  • Proven ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders with and without direct authority.
  • Strong strategic thinking, prioritization, and judgment in ambiguous or evolving environments.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for senior leaders, external partners, and cross-functional teams.
  • Experience using data, reporting, and qualitative insight to inform decisions and improve outcomes.
  • Experience leading or developing a direct report with a mature, accountable, low-ego leadership style.
  • Curiosity for exploring new technologies, including AI.
  • Permanent U.S. work authorization is required.
  • Ability to travel monthly for multiple days to a corporate office or other onX strategic location.
  • Outdoor industry experience or familiarity with public lands, access, stewardship, and outdoor recreation issues is preferred.

Benefits

  • Salary range of $149,000 to $186,000 on hire.
  • Annual bonus of 10% based on company performance.
  • Common share options with a vesting schedule.
