Description

  • Lead mechanical design efforts for converting and packaging line projects.
  • Execute capital projects within defined scopes, budgets, and schedules.
  • Develop engineering concepts, deliverables, labor estimates, and proposal costs.
  • Prepare system analyses, conceptual layouts, equipment specifications, and detailed design packages.
  • Delegate design work, hold team members accountable, and mentor engineers and designers.
  • Perform quality assurance and quality control reviews of design packages.
  • Interface with clients and vendors, including soliciting and reviewing equipment bids.
  • Lead internal and client design reviews.
  • Gather field data and conduct manufacturing-site investigations as needed.
  • Provide startup support and troubleshoot installed systems.
  • Travel to Foth offices and client locations approximately 25–35% annually.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering, or equivalent technical experience.
  • 10+ years of industry-relevant engineering experience with consumer products.
  • Preferred: 15+ years of experience with integration systems and systems engineering for towel, tissue, paper converting, or packaging systems.
  • Experience developing system concepts, final system designs, and written line operations strategies preferred.
  • Conveyor application experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of web handling processes, including unwind, rewind, cutting, and printing, preferred.
  • Experience analyzing and designing utilities supporting converting systems preferred.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD and 3D design software preferred.
  • Experience with simulation software such as FlexSim or Plant Simulation preferred.
  • Experience with Autodesk Navisworks and ReCap, and understanding of balanced line flow, preferred.
