Description

  • Lead and scale project engineering, drafting, design, and utility interconnection across a large project portfolio.
  • Own engineering throughput, design-package content, quality gates, and delivery stages from conceptual design through IFC.
  • Build, develop, and retain a high-performing internal engineering team.
  • Select, contract, and manage external engineering and interconnection consultants.
  • Set and enforce engineering, CAD, and design standards, including utility and AHJ requirements.
  • Serve as the senior technical authority on utility interconnection and AHJ permitting.
  • Provide engineering inputs to project schedules, budgets, estimating, and unit-cost models.
  • Partner with Development, Execution, Origination, Procurement, and Fleet Operations on project delivery.
  • Improve design velocity through tooling, automation, templates, and data-driven processes.
  • Lead technical due diligence and assess feasibility, buildability, cost, and risk for new opportunities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related discipline, or 12+ years of directly related experience.
  • 10+ years of progressive engineering experience in EV charging, renewable energy, electrical infrastructure, or utility-scale development.
  • Experience managing design from concept through construction.
  • 5+ years leading engineering teams, including managing managers and scaling design organizations.
  • Experience owning engineering standards, design packages, and QA/QC across concurrent projects.
  • Experience selecting, contracting, and managing external engineering consultants at scale.
  • Deep knowledge of utility interconnection, new electrical service, and AHJ permitting.
  • Familiarity with IEEE 1547, utility tariffs, and interconnection rules.
  • Expertise with AutoCAD, Procore, and Bluebeam.
  • PE license, experience with EV charging/BESS/edge-compute projects, repeatable unit-cost design programs, or a master’s degree/MBA preferred.
