Description

  • Partner with the sales team to educate customers on Okta’s identity solutions and demonstrate their value.
  • Deliver tailored product demonstrations that address customer business problems and technical needs.
  • Answer product and technical questions throughout the sales cycle.
  • Plan and deliver complex proofs of concept by collaborating with other Okta engineering teams.
  • Share customer feedback with product teams to influence future enhancements.
  • Contribute best practices and reusable assets to the broader solutions engineering team.
  • Track competitive analysis and market differentiation to better position Okta.
  • Represent Okta at conferences, user groups, trade shows, and other marketing events.
  • Support territory management by helping build pipeline and collaborating with sales counterparts.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in pre-sales engineering and solution selling, with experience in enterprise account segments.
  • Deep understanding of identity protocols such as SAML, OIDC, OAuth, FIDO, Passkeys, SCIM, and LDAP.
  • Working knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure/Entra, and GCP.
  • Experience with REST APIs and SDKs.
  • Hands-on experience in one or more of front-end web development, back-end development, scripting (Bash, PowerShell), or DevOps tools such as Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Understanding of identity-related cybersecurity topics such as phishing, MFA bypass attacks, and privilege escalation.
  • Ability to simplify complex technical concepts and deliver compelling presentations to technical and executive audiences.
  • Experience diagramming user journeys and complex architecture.
  • Proven skills in territory management, pipeline building, and collaboration with sales counterparts.
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a comparable field preferred.
  • Bonus: Hands-on knowledge of Identity Governance (IGA) or Privileged Access Management (PAM) solutions.
  • Bonus: Deep understanding of securing privileged accounts, including Just-in-Time access, session recording, and secrets management.
  • Bonus: Practical experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, LDAP, and federation services.
  • Bonus: Proficiency in CNAPP/CSPM, UNIX/Linux, database and network security, or DevOps practices.

Benefits

  • Annual On Target Compensation (OTE) range of $192,000 to $288,000 USD for candidates in California (excluding San Francisco Bay Area), Colorado, Illinois, New York, and Washington.
