Description

  • Partner with Commercial Account Executives as the technical lead throughout the customer lifecycle.
  • Educate customers on Okta’s identity solutions and articulate their business value.
  • Deliver customized product demonstrations and presentations to audiences ranging from developers to C-level executives.
  • Understand customer needs through detailed discovery and translate requirements into tailored solution proposals.
  • Lead technical engagements, including answering product questions and planning and delivering complex proof-of-concept demonstrations.
  • Collaborate with Okta engineering teams to support technical solutions and POC execution.
  • Share customer feedback with product teams to influence future product enhancements.
  • Contribute reusable assets, best practices, and knowledge to the broader team.
  • Monitor competitive analysis and market differentiation to improve positioning.
  • Represent Okta at conferences, user groups, trade shows, and other marketing events.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in pre-sales engineering and solution selling, with a strong background in enterprise account segments.
  • Deep understanding of identity protocols such as SAML, OIDC, OAuth, FIDO, Passkeys, SCIM, and LDAP.
  • Working knowledge of cloud platforms including AWS, Azure/Entra, and GCP.
  • Experience with REST APIs and SDKs.
  • Hands-on experience in one or more of the following: front-end web development, back-end development, scripting with Bash or PowerShell, or DevOps tools such as Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Understanding of identity-related cybersecurity topics such as phishing, MFA bypass attacks, and privilege escalation.
  • Ability to simplify complex technical concepts and deliver compelling presentations to technical and executive audiences.
  • Ability to diagram user journeys and complex architecture.
  • Proven skills in territory management, including building pipelines and collaborating with sales counterparts.
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, MIS, or a comparable field preferred.
  • Experience in the IAM space preferred.
  • Hands-on knowledge of Identity Governance (IGA) or Privileged Access Management (PAM) solutions preferred.
  • Practical experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, LDAP, and federation services preferred.
  • Experience with Agentic AI and LLM-based workflows, including familiarity with AI agents and MCP servers, is a plus.

  • Annual on-target compensation (OTE) range of $200,000 to $275,000 USD for candidates in California (excluding San Francisco Bay Area), Colorado, Illinois, New York, and Washington.
