Description

  • Write performant, maintainable, and well-documented code for large-scale web applications.
  • Build products using JavaScript, TypeScript, and a core object-oriented language within a services-oriented AWS architecture.
  • Write automated tests to validate code correctness and maintain quality.
  • Deploy applications through a complete CI/CD software lifecycle.
  • Own code end-to-end from development through deployment and operations, including on-call support.
  • Collaborate with Product, Design, and Engineering to deliver fast, elegant, responsive user experiences.
  • Iterate continuously to improve quality, accessibility, performance, and user outcomes.
  • Work independently and effectively in a fast-moving team environment.
  • Use AI-native development tools to accelerate implementation and increase impact.

Requirements

  • Experience with JavaScript and TypeScript.
  • Experience with a core object-oriented programming language such as Java, C++, or C#.
  • Familiarity with backend services and technologies is a plus.
  • Experience with deployment systems such as GitHub Actions and AWS CodeDeploy.
  • Familiarity with AWS services such as RDS, Lambda, and EC2.
  • Familiarity with Linux and command-line tools.
  • Understanding of object-oriented design, algorithms, and data structures.
  • Ability to quickly learn new languages and technologies as needed.
  • Experience developing websites with thousands of daily visitors.
  • Experience with SEO performance improvements.
  • Experience with AI-native productivity tools such as Cursor, Make, Supabase, Netlify, Claude Code, n8n, Firecrawl, ChatGPT, Grok, Bolt, and Vercel.
  • Computer Science or a related degree preferred.
  • Fluent English.
  • Understanding and support of Nerdy’s apolitical company stance.
