Description

  • Lead and manage the Data Engineering & Delivery team to deliver robust data products and systems on time.
  • Develop and maintain data infrastructure, data ingestion solutions, ETL pipelines, and data delivery solutions.
  • Measure, report, and improve operational effectiveness.
  • Train and coach team members on new technologies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Translate business needs and project requirements into technical specifications and implementation plans.
  • Create design documents for data architecture, ETL pipelines, delivery solutions, and related tools/components.
  • Support development, testing, deployment, validation, maintenance, and updates for data systems and products.
  • Improve and enforce operating procedures for compliance, quality, and efficiency.
  • Create training materials and contribute to training activities for team-owned data products and systems.
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders to align roadmaps, resolve dependencies, and share performance metrics.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Statistics, Data Science, Bioinformatics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Management Science, Operational Research, or a related field; doctorate preferred.
  • 5+ years of relevant industry experience with a Master’s degree, or 2+ years with a Doctorate.
  • 2+ years of experience in a highly regulated environment such as CLIA and/or FDA-compliant settings.
  • 2+ years of management experience leading a Data Engineering, Data Production/Delivery, or Data Analytics team.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL and Python; R is a plus.
  • Experience with data analysis, statistical techniques, and building data products such as aggregation, extraction, transformation, and QC.
  • Proficiency with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or AWS QuickSight.
  • Experience with Git workflows and version control systems such as GitHub and/or GitLab.
  • Working knowledge of genomics and bioinformatics workflows; human genetics knowledge is a plus.
  • Experience with dbt, healthcare data, EHRs, or clinical terminology is preferred.
