Description

  • Design and deploy machine learning algorithms for e-commerce, consumer trends, markets, logistics, and new product use cases.
  • Work on production machine learning systems across natural language processing, image classification, time series analysis, outlier detection, and user modeling.
  • Build and work with large unstructured datasets in a production environment.
  • Develop frameworks, tools, and methodologies that improve the productivity and impact of the broader data science and data team.
  • Write production-level code and own machine learning operations for team initiatives.
  • Provide thought leadership through high-quality write-ups, reviews, and practical technical vision.
  • Collaborate across mathematics, machine learning, business, and computer science to solve high-impact problems.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of hands-on experience shipping models to production across multiple problem areas such as user modeling, spam classification, prediction, and clustering.
  • MS in Computer Science, Statistics, Math, Science, Engineering, or a similar quantitative and computational field, plus 5+ years of industry experience.
  • Strong machine learning skills.
  • Fluency in Python, PyTorch, TensorFlow, Pandas, NumPy, and related machine learning packages.
  • Data engineering experience with large-scale data, including TB-scale data in production and modern data pipelines such as Spark.
  • Strong software engineering and coding skills with the ability to write production-quality code.
  • Strong understanding of probability, statistics, machine learning, and algorithms.
  • Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases.
  • Experience working with Linux and shell scripting.
  • Previous startup experience is strongly preferred.
  • Experience implementing applications on Google Cloud Platform (preferred).
  • Experience with deep generative models or graph learning (preferred).
  • Experience leading a team of data scientists or data/ML professionals (preferred).
  • Strong written communication and the ability to balance sophistication with practicality (preferred).

Benefits

  • Annual salary range of $180,000 to $230,000 CAD.
  • Annual bonus eligibility.
