Description

  • Lead end-to-end project execution by driving RFCs, HLD/LLD design docs, and execution plans.
  • Design, build, and maintain highly concurrent, low-latency backend systems that handle massive transactional throughput.
  • Write clean, performance-optimized, and maintainable code using backend technologies such as Ruby on Rails and Go.
  • Optimize database performance, query execution, and caching strategies while preserving data consistency across microservices.
  • Collaborate with product managers, designers, DevOps, and other engineering teams to deliver integrated product experiences.
  • Mentor and coach junior and mid-level engineers, including reviewing complex pull requests and supporting their growth.
  • Identify and resolve system bottlenecks and root causes of recurring infrastructure issues.
  • Champion automated testing, observability, and CI/CD automation to improve operational excellence.
  • Propose technical and organizational improvements that balance short-term delivery with long-term architectural stability.

Requirements

  • 5 to 8+ years of non-internship professional software development experience in fast-paced product startups or high-scale tech companies.
  • Strong knowledge of Ruby on Rails and robust experience with Go (Golang).
  • Experience building high-performance APIs and multi-threaded systems.
  • Strong understanding of distributed systems, networking, concurrency control, and CAP theorem trade-offs.
  • Strong proficiency with PostgreSQL, RESTful APIs, gRPC, and MVC architecture.
  • Ability to think from first principles and deliver high-quality software while balancing reliability, scalability, security, and usability.
  • Bias toward shipping early and iterating through small, incremental changes.
  • Proven ability to navigate ambiguity, set technical expectations, manage stakeholders, and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or an equivalent technical field.
  • Familiarity with other backend technologies and frameworks is preferred.
  • Experience with database design, optimization, and query performance tuning is preferred.
  • Experience driving technical decisions and implementing organizational improvements is preferred.
