Description

  • Own and evolve architecture within a defined infrastructure domain.
  • Design and implement scalable, reliable systems across multiple teams and environments.
  • Establish and promote best practices, patterns, and standards for the domain.
  • Contribute to medium- and long-term technical strategy over a 6-18 month horizon.
  • Lead delivery of ambiguous, high-impact infrastructure projects.
  • Break down complex system problems into implementable solutions.
  • Drive migrations, re-architectures, and performance and reliability improvements.
  • Work across IT, SRE, Security, and service owners to unify solutions.
  • Improve reliability through monitoring, alerting, operational design, and capacity planning.
  • Lead root cause analysis for complex incidents and reduce toil through automation.
  • Design and support core infrastructure components including compute, DNS, networking, and identity.
  • Build automation and internal tooling using scripting and Infrastructure as Code.
  • Mentor engineers, guide troubleshooting, and raise team technical quality.
  • Maintain documentation, diagrams, and runbooks to keep systems understandable and operable.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of experience in systems engineering or infrastructure roles.
  • Strong experience designing and operating production infrastructure.
  • Solid expertise with VMware.
  • Solid expertise with Cisco UCS.
  • Solid expertise with application and network load balancers.
  • Experience with Linux/Unix operating systems.
  • Knowledge of networking fundamentals including DNS, TCP/IP, routing, and firewalls.
  • Experience in data center environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex technical work across teams.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code, such as Puppet or Ansible, preferred.
  • Python experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with observability tooling and reliability practices preferred.
  • Experience with containerization and modern platform tooling preferred.
  • Exposure to security best practices in infrastructure design preferred.
  • Experience with GitHub Enterprise administration, including access management, org/repo management, SSO/SCIM integration, and policy enforcement, preferred.

  • US salary range of $163,000-$218,000 for Tier 1 locations, $150,000-$200,000 for Tier 2, and $139,000-$185,000 for Tier 3.
