Description

  • Lead the most complex, ambiguous, and highest-stakes research studies and set the standard for research excellence.
  • Drive user-centered decision-making at the executive level by influencing directors and VPs.
  • Partner with product, design, engineering, data science, and marketing to identify high-impact research opportunities.
  • Integrate qualitative research, quantitative research, behavioral data, and market intelligence into evidence-based insights.
  • Use AI tools thoughtfully across the research workflow and verify outputs for accuracy.
  • Define standards and frameworks for responsible AI use in research.
  • Elevate the research practice by identifying capability gaps and mentoring Staff researchers and below.
  • Translate research findings into clear, actionable insights that shape roadmaps and strategies.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of applied research experience, including strategic research leadership in complex organizations.
  • At least 6 years of experience in the tech/SaaS industry.
  • Extensive experience leading both evaluative and generative research across the product development lifecycle.
  • Deep expertise in qualitative methods such as interviews, concept testing, and usability studies.
  • Practical experience with quantitative approaches such as survey design and data analysis.
  • Strong judgment in setting program-level research priorities and making trade-offs across multiple workstreams.
  • Deep, current knowledge of AI tools used in research workflows and the ability to evaluate their outputs critically.
  • Recognized internal expertise in research methodology, including the ability to introduce novel approaches when standard methods fall short.
  • Collaborative, influential communication skills with experience building alignment across cross-functional teams.
