Description

  • Build and prototype new features and solutions for complex technical challenges.
  • Develop and maintain metrics to monitor email delivery rates, sender reputation, and service-level issues.
  • Monitor email industry standards, trends, and emerging threats, and propose delivery and spam-resilience improvements.
  • Develop, test, and evolve code architecture to improve scalability, maintainability, and robustness.
  • Conduct code reviews and contribute to technical strategy and architectural decisions.
  • Build and deploy prototypes and experiments with designers and product leads to improve workflows, conversions, and analytics capabilities.
  • Evaluate and implement improvements across security, logging, performance, and accessibility.
  • Support the stability and reliability of services through participation in a shared on-call rotation.
  • Work closely with designers, engineers, and community members to develop and maintain user-facing features.
  • Help diagnose and resolve email issues at scale.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of professional software development experience, including 2+ years in a Senior Software Engineer role.
  • 2+ years of experience with JavaScript/TypeScript and 2+ years working with Python 3.
  • Experience building and maintaining email services.
  • Experience building and maintaining web applications.
  • Experience across the full software development life cycle, from product inception through customer delivery.
  • Proven ability to deploy and manage web infrastructure on AWS or similar cloud providers.
  • Ability to translate wireframes, style guides, and design direction into polished, production-ready visual experiences.
  • Excellent English written and verbal communication skills for an international, geographically distributed team.
  • Experience with Java and/or Rust development (preferred).
  • Familiarity with Stalwart email server (preferred).
  • Hands-on work developing and maintaining an Identity Provider such as Keycloak or similar (preferred).
  • Experience writing Infrastructure as Code, ideally with Pulumi (preferred).
  • Contributions to open-source projects or active engagement with open-source communities (preferred).
  • Must reside in and have permanent work authorization for one of the specified country locations; no visa sponsorship is provided.

Benefits

  • Competitive base salary benchmarked to local markets, targeting the 60th percentile of the peer market.
  • Salary ranges of US$125,000–$144,000, CA$108,000–$125,000, or £62,000–£72,000 depending on location.
