Description

  • Own the end-to-end commissions forecasting process, including calendars, models, assumptions, source data, submissions, and change control.
  • Produce monthly, quarterly, and annual forecasts and explain actuals-to-forecast and forecast-to-plan variances.
  • Establish forecasting inputs, ownership, deadlines, assumptions, and operating rhythms across partner teams.
  • Design and evolve compensation plans across segments, roles, geographies, and pay periods.
  • Translate go-to-market strategy into quotas, crediting rules, accelerators, kickers, draws, SPIFFs, MBOs, ramping structures, and exception frameworks.
  • Build scenario models evaluating plan outcomes, incentives, fairness, payout volatility, costs, and implementation complexity.
  • Convert approved designs into requirements, documentation, test cases, decision logs, and implementation specifications.
  • Review system outputs, reporting, controls, approvals, and audit trails for policy alignment and accuracy.
  • Create enablement, reporting, self-service resources, and communications for sales leaders, managers, and compensation partners.
  • Support audit and IPO-readiness activities and mentor analysts without formal people-management responsibility.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of experience in FP&A, sales compensation, incentive compensation, sales operations, revenue operations, finance, or a related analytical field.
  • Meaningful ownership of commissions or variable-compensation forecasting.
  • Experience designing or materially changing sales compensation plans in complex, multi-segment organizations.
  • Strong FP&A, analytical, financial-modeling, large-dataset, forecasting, variance, bridge, and scenario-modeling skills.
  • Deep understanding of quota allocation, attainment, crediting, accelerators, kickers, draws, ramping, clawbacks, SPIFFs, and exceptions.
  • Experience partnering with senior stakeholders across Sales, Finance, Operations, People, and Technology.
  • Ability to write clear policy language, business requirements, process documentation, and executive recommendations.
  • Experience with an incentive compensation platform such as Xactly, Varicent, CaptivateIQ, Everstage, Anaplan, or equivalent.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex compensation mechanics to non-specialists.
  • Preferred: experience with global SaaS or subscription businesses, Salesforce, Workday, Snowflake, SQL, BI tools, new-logo and account-management compensation, or enablement resources.

Benefits

  • Salary range of $132,000–$182,000 USD in San Francisco; $115,000–$158,000 USD in designated U.S. metropolitan areas; $114,000–$157,000 USD elsewhere in the U.S.; and $120,000–$165,000 CAD in Canada.
