Description

  • Take accountability for delivery across one or more squads in collaboration with the Technical Lead and Product Manager.
  • Lead a team of around 7-10 engineers and support their coaching, development, and performance growth through regular 1:1s and feedback.
  • Set and maintain a high bar for engineering excellence and technical outcomes within the team.
  • Partner with senior engineers to drive technical initiatives that improve engineering practices.
  • Communicate and coordinate with stakeholders from other teams to protect focus time for engineers.
  • Collaborate with the wider engineering organisation to improve company-wide management and technical standards.
  • Support inclusive team practices and create an environment where people can do their best work.

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a software engineer is required.
  • Strong technical and delivery background in engineering management.
  • Comfort operating in ambiguous problem spaces with a high degree of autonomy.
  • Delivery experience with the ability to guide squads toward their outcomes.
  • Ability to input into, understand, and challenge engineering decisions while empowering the team to own them.
  • Understanding of what a high-performing engineering team looks like and how to help build one.
  • Ability to coach people to achieve their goals.
  • Natural ability to inspire and motivate a team.
  • Experience working in an experimentation-led environment is a bonus.
  • Must be eligible to work remotely within the UK or be based in London, with ad hoc office visits if remote.

  • Base salary of £110,500-£145,000 depending on experience.
