Description

  • Participate in on-call rotations and serve as the primary technical lead during incidents.
  • Act as incident commander during major outages by coordinating war rooms, cross-functional teams, and status updates.
  • Instrument code to produce high-cardinality metrics and distributed traces.
  • Define, measure, and defend service level objectives and error budgets with product owners.
  • Build internal tooling, automation platforms, and self-healing mechanisms in production-ready code.
  • Partner with product engineering during the design phase to embed reliability, scalability, and observability from the start.
  • Analyze performance and traffic patterns to forecast future capacity needs.
  • Conduct load testing and chaos engineering experiments to validate resilience under failure conditions.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in SRE or backend engineering.
  • Strong ability to write clean, performant, and tested code in Java, Go, Rust, or Python.
  • Deep understanding of distributed systems architecture and design patterns.
  • Strong knowledge of microservices fundamentals and event-driven architectures.
  • Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or similar cloud providers such as AWS or Azure.
  • Proficiency running production workloads on Kubernetes, including GKE or EKS.
  • Ability to troubleshoot cluster and infrastructure issues in production environments.
  • Experience designing observability strategies with OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, New Relic, Datadog, or SigNoz.
  • Familiarity with tuning PostgreSQL or MySQL and streaming platforms such as Kafka or RabbitMQ in high-throughput environments.
