Description

  • Drive operational excellence for internal software development tools and services by defining golden paths that improve engineering efficiency and velocity.
  • Design software development systems that promote best practices and align with industry standards.
  • Advise engineering partners on the technical tradeoffs of system design, including complexity, testability, and maintainability.
  • Lead development and project management for major projects that improve developer productivity and software quality, especially through data-driven insights and optimizations.
  • Provide technical mentorship and leadership within the Developer Productivity organization to foster team growth and reinforce best practices.
  • Partner with engineering leadership to identify system-wide opportunities to accelerate developer velocity and efficiency.
  • Support the integration of smart data collection and analytics assistants that generate actionable insights across the development lifecycle.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in developer productivity within large engineering environments, including building and operationalizing complex, reliable systems.
  • Strong experience supporting one or more of C++, Java, Go, Python, Rust, Node, or TypeScript.
  • Strong understanding of DevOps culture and tooling.
  • Extensive experience with CI/CD pipelines, common deployment models, infrastructure, and safe production rollout techniques.
  • Hands-on experience with metrics and observability tools and best practices.
  • Experience with data processing pipeline technologies such as Iceberg, Trino, and Kafka.
  • Proven ability to drive technical execution and vision for organizations with 50+ team members.
  • Experience advocating for and representing the needs of a 1000+ customer base to internal platform teams.
  • Bonus experience with testing and monitoring multi-threaded systems.
  • Bonus experience with performance profiling of complex systems.
  • Bonus experience leveraging AI tools and technologies in developer productivity, along with telemetry and analytics to measure effectiveness.
  • Bonus experience supporting database internals or core components for data processing systems.

  • Base salary range of $211,000 to $363,000 USD for U.S.-based candidates.
