Description

  • Evaluate security risks across MongoDB’s compute, network, storage, and product architectures.
  • Form, communicate, and defend independent security and architecture recommendations.
  • Balance delivery speed and security risk by challenging unnecessary process and addressing insufficient risk analysis.
  • Lead teams through difficult decisions, alignment, and execution.
  • Build a community of senior security individual contributors across security operations, product security, and enterprise security.
  • Lead time-boxed, cross-functional engagements including M&A security diligence and partner risk assessments.
  • Identify and close knowledge gaps while remaining accountable for engagement outcomes.
  • Collaborate with product teams on identity and permission models for MongoDB’s autonomous agent platform.
  • Advance automated detection, reproduction, and remediation of vulnerabilities using AI.
  • Mentor and develop senior technical talent without requiring formal management authority.

Requirements

  • 12+ years of experience in security engineering, software engineering, or a related discipline, including senior individual-contributor or technical-lead experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Deep technical expertise in security and working knowledge of compute, network, and storage architecture.
  • Demonstrated ability to form and defend independent technical positions and determine when to commit to a decision.
  • Experience influencing management and cross-functional partners without formal authority.
  • Experience owning ambiguous, deadline-driven work such as M&A diligence or partner risk reviews.
  • Interest in mentoring and connecting senior engineers without needing a management title.
  • Direct experience leading M&A security diligence or partner/vendor risk assessments (preferred).
  • Experience spanning multiple technology layers, such as network and storage or application and infrastructure security (preferred).
  • Experience building or growing technical communities of practice (preferred).
