Description

  • Manage a team of software engineers and support their success, growth, and technical execution.
  • Contribute code to team projects when needed.
  • Provide architectural feedback and help design new features.
  • Remove technical blockers and coordinate dependencies with other teams.
  • Support team health and overall team happiness.
  • Help plan organizational growth, including engineering resource allocation, hiring plans, and project assignment.
  • Estimate delivery timelines and communicate project status and execution plans to upper management.
  • Set team culture by example.
  • Participate in code and design reviews for new features.

Requirements

  • Experience building production-level code for a large user base with strong design structure and rigorous code quality.
  • Degree in Computer Science or a similar field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Strong competencies in data structures, algorithms, and software design/architecture.
  • Proficiency in C++ or a similar programming language.
  • Experience managing small engineering teams.
  • Passion for team leadership, mentorship, and coaching.
  • Experience contributing to code and design reviews for new features is preferred.
  • Ability to work from New York City, Austin, Palo Alto, San Francisco, or remotely in the US.
  • Experience identifying and closing team skill gaps is preferred.
  • Experience developing career growth plans for team members is preferred.

  • Base salary range of $137,000 to $270,000 USD for U.S.-based candidates.
