Description

  • Lead technical and programmatic execution of new and existing air vehicle system design, fabrication, test, productization, and sustainment.
  • Own the technical and programmatic success of assigned programs and communicate the technical vision to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Set up design trades for early conceptual exploration and partner with technical subject matter experts and Business Development to identify the right solution for current and future capability gaps.
  • Manage detailed system and subsystem design, including requirements development, subsystem trades, optimization, risk management, schedule, and cost considerations.
  • Coordinate fabrication of prototype and low-rate production articles as well as subsystem and system-level test efforts.
  • Support remotely deployed operations of the systems.
  • Work with senior leadership to ensure resource plans are sufficient for the scope of work.
  • Drive technical development across the full lifecycle from white paper sketches and conceptual design through flight test and transition to production.

Requirements

  • Deep understanding of unmanned aircraft at and above Group 3 class.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, or Software Engineering, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Experience in a senior role leading air vehicle programs from initial concept through test and delivery to customers.
  • Experience driving strategic direction in competitive environments and solving complex system optimization problems under tight constraints.
  • Proven ability to deliver functional capabilities while aligning technical objectives with programmatic outcomes.
  • Demonstrated collaboration and partnership with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong understanding of the rationale behind vehicle and systems design.
  • Experience working on mission-critical DoD systems.
  • Experience troubleshooting and analyzing remotely deployed systems.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% to customer and test sites.
  • Eligibility to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance.
