Description

  • Generate monitoring and observability recommendations by analyzing monitoring-related HPIs and CPIs from initial findings through detailed analysis.
  • Perform enterprise-level triage and incident resolution for VA system infrastructure.
  • Use system monitoring tools to improve enterprise reliability and the quality of services delivered to veterans.
  • Work with system and application owners to understand existing designs, functionality, and workflows across multiple environments.
  • Investigate outages and workflow issues across enterprise applications and technology stacks, and recommend reliability improvements.
  • Collaborate with event management, DevOps teams, system and network administrators, developers, and identity and access teams during deeper technical investigations.
  • Support analysis of issues across hardware, software, enterprise applications, and broader technology stacks.
  • Use tools such as SolarWinds, Dynatrace, and Splunk as part of daily troubleshooting and monitoring work.
  • Lead a team to solve difficult technical challenges when needed.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of deep expertise in two or more troubleshooting and application logging tools such as Dynatrace, Splunk, SolarWinds, or ServiceNow Operator Workspace.
  • Extensive experience in one or more technology areas such as Network, Windows, Desktop, Unix/Linux, AWS or Azure Cloud, WebSphere Middleware, Java/JS Development, or Microsoft or Oracle Database.
  • 8+ years of experience with key indicators of IT system operability, reliability, application performance, and code quality.
  • 8+ years of experience deploying, maintaining, and troubleshooting complex applications at enterprise scale while working with cross-functional teams.
  • 1+ years of experience with service virtualization, AWS or Azure cloud technologies, and SaaS and PaaS implementation.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • 2+ years of experience independently leading a team to solve difficult technical challenges.
  • High school diploma or GED plus 20+ years of relevant professional experience, or an MA/MS in computer science, electronics engineering, or another engineering/technical discipline plus 10+ years of relevant professional experience.
  • Experience with test-driven development, distributed systems, microservices, and cloud-native application implementation is preferred.
  • Experience with tools such as Oracle Enterprise Manager, Riverbed Aternity, and ServiceNow VTBs is preferred.
  • Public Trust Clearance is preferred.
  • Applicants must be eligible for a government investigation and meet U.S. government client eligibility requirements.
