Description

  • Lead assessments of enterprise cryptographic systems and identify quantum-related risks.
  • Develop quantum-resilient security strategies and migration roadmaps aligned with federal requirements.
  • Research and implement post-quantum cryptography solutions and quantum-resistant algorithms.
  • Evaluate quantum technologies, cryptographic standards, and modernization frameworks.
  • Design and test cryptographic solutions using classical and quantum simulation tools.
  • Provide guidance on quantum-safe encryption, key management, and PKI implementations.
  • Collaborate with cybersecurity, engineering, data science, infrastructure, and leadership teams.
  • Prepare technical reports, executive briefings, risk assessments, policies, and technical guidance.
  • Participate in architecture reviews, technical working groups, governance, and program management activities.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of Information Technology experience.
  • 5+ years of quantum computing and cryptography experience supporting large corporations or comparable federal agencies.
  • Bachelor’s degree in cybersecurity, computer science, information systems, information assurance, business, or a related field; a related master’s degree may substitute for up to two years of experience.
  • IAT Level III, IAM Level III, or IASAE Level III certification.
  • Strong knowledge of quantum mechanics, quantum information theory, quantum computing, and algorithms such as Shor’s and Grover’s.
  • Experience with quantum platforms including IBM Qiskit, Google Cirq, Quipper, or Microsoft Quantum Development Kit.
  • Expertise in RSA, AES, PKI, post-quantum cryptography, NIST standards, and ISO/IEC 19790.
  • Proficiency in Python, C++, Java, or similar languages, plus classical and quantum simulation environments.
  • Ability to develop cryptographic migration strategies, assess inventories, communicate risks to executives, and operate in structured program environments.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Tier 4 / High Risk Background Investigation; availability during 8:00 AM–5:00 PM Eastern Time and approximately two trips per year.

Benefits

  • Salary range of $200,000–$230,000.
  • Remote work supporting Eastern Time Zone operations.
  • Full-time employment supporting a federal cybersecurity mission.

  • Approximately two program-related trips per year, with routine onsite support not anticipated.
