Description

  • Own the AI architecture for HotDocs, including model management, LLM orchestration, retrieval strategy, evaluation, and cost and latency management.
  • Design and deliver AI-powered enterprise features from prototype to production at scale.
  • Write and maintain clean, performant .NET Core and React code.
  • Lead AI adoption across the software development lifecycle, including coding assistants, agentic workflows, test generation, code review, and documentation.
  • Build evaluation harnesses, guardrails, observability, and AI governance practices for safe and accurate AI use.
  • Modernize and refactor legacy code to support AI integration and improve scalability and reliability.
  • Mentor engineers through code reviews, design reviews, pairing, and internal knowledge-sharing sessions.
  • Partner with product, architecture, security, DevOps, and customer-facing teams to shape the AI roadmap and delivery approach.
  • Extend CI/CD and AI Ops practices to support prompt/model versioning, automated evaluation, monitoring, and cost tracking.
  • Ensure AI features are user-focused, accessible, responsive, and aligned to real customer problems.

Requirements

  • 12+ years of professional software development experience, including principal, lead, or staff-level technical experience.
  • Strong hands-on experience with .NET Core (C#) and React (TypeScript) or similar SPA frameworks.
  • Demonstrated experience shipping production AI solutions, including LLM integration, prompt engineering, RAG, MCP, and agentic or tool-calling systems.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud AI platforms such as Azure OpenAI / AI Foundry or equivalent, plus orchestration frameworks like Semantic Kernel.
  • Experience building and maintaining REST APIs.
  • Proficiency with Entity Framework and Azure SQL or SQL Server.
  • Experience evaluating AI system quality using test sets, benchmarking, human review loops, and methods for handling non-deterministic behavior.
  • Understanding of web application security and AI-specific risks such as prompt injection and sensitive data handling.
  • Experience with Git and modern collaboration workflows such as pull requests and branching strategies.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, preferably Azure DevOps or similar.
  • Comfort working in agile teams using tools such as Jira and Confluence.
  • Practical experience using AI tools within the SDLC and a point of view on effective team adoption.
  • Track record of technical leadership, including mentoring senior engineers and influencing roadmap and architecture decisions.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Addins (office.js / VSTO) is preferred.
  • Familiarity with .NET Framework / WPF is preferred.
  • Experience with OAuth and SSO is preferred.
  • Exposure to distributed caching such as Redis is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Linux environments and containerization with Docker is preferred.
  • Scripting experience in PowerShell is preferred.
  • Experience with performance tuning, diagnostics, infrastructure-as-code, or enterprise SaaS/compliance-heavy domains is preferred.
