Description

  • Shift quality left by joining refinement, story-writing, and design discussions to surface ambiguity, edge cases, and testability concerns early.
  • Work with developers across the full testing pyramid, from unit and integration tests through end-to-end and system testing.
  • Rebalance test suites to be fast, deterministic, trustworthy, and appropriately distributed across test levels.
  • Treat CI as a product by profiling pipelines, removing wasted compute, parallelizing and sharding tests, and shortening feedback loops.
  • Bring AI-assisted development into the quality workflow for test generation, code review, and faster feedback while maintaining quality standards.
  • Mentor and enable engineers through pairing, workshops, test code reviews, and pipeline reviews.
  • Define and drive pragmatic quality strategies across the SDLC, including test strategy, environments, test data, release confidence, and quality metrics.
  • Assess team maturity quickly, build trust with stakeholders, and influence quality practices without formal authority.

Requirements

  • Deep hands-on experience across the entire testing pyramid, from unit tests to end-to-end and system testing.
  • Strong ability to read, write, and review code comfortably.
  • Practical understanding of Agile delivery and shift-left quality practices.
  • Solid CI expertise, including the ability to analyze pipelines and improve speed, cost, and reliability.
  • Experience with CI tools such as GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, or CircleCI is relevant.
  • Comfort with test tools such as Playwright, Cypress, or Selenium for end-to-end testing.
  • Comfort with unit and integration testing tools such as Jest, Vitest, JUnit, or pytest.
  • Experience with performance testing tools such as k6, JMeter, or Gatling.
  • Hands-on experience using AI-assisted development tools and coaching teams on effective use.
  • Outstanding mentoring and communication skills with both engineers and client stakeholders.
  • Ability to enter unfamiliar teams, assess quality maturity quickly, and earn trust rapidly.
  • Consulting or client-facing experience is a plus.
  • Exposure to performance, security, accessibility, or contract testing is a plus.
  • Familiarity with observability and production telemetry is a plus.
  • Community contributions such as talks, writing, open source, or external mentoring are a plus.
