Description

  • Monitor the health, performance, and availability of AWS-hosted Linux and Windows servers and respond to alerts and issues.
  • Perform routine system administration tasks, including patching, software updates, vulnerability remediation, and maintenance.
  • Harden servers and applications to meet DISA STIG and DoD cybersecurity requirements.
  • Review vulnerability scan results, develop remediation plans and POA&Ms, and coordinate corrective actions.
  • Support RMF activities by collecting compliance evidence and documenting security controls.
  • Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls.
  • Maintain configuration management standards and document system changes.
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, and interoperability issues to minimize mission impact.
  • Execute backup, recovery, and disaster recovery procedures.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, SOPs, and knowledge articles.
  • Collaborate with Air Force stakeholders, cybersecurity teams, cloud engineers, and system administrators on modernization and continuous monitoring efforts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field; high school diploma plus 7 years of Linux system administration experience may substitute.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience administering Linux enterprise IT systems.
  • Experience as a system administrator in an AWS environment.
  • Experience supporting Department of War (DoW) or U.S. Air Force IT environments.
  • Experience administering Linux operating systems such as AWS Linux and Ubuntu, as well as Microsoft Windows Server environments.
  • Extensive experience hardening servers and applications in accordance with DISA STIGs.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Must meet DoD 8140 qualification requirements, such as Security+ CE.
  • Active Secret security clearance required.
