Description

  • Create data pipelines that make data available for analytics and application use cases.
  • Build self-healing, resilient processes that require minimal maintenance.
  • Develop data quality notifications with clear actions for internal stakeholders.
  • Lead technical projects and create project technical design documents.
  • Support data analysts and analytics engineers in meeting organizational needs.
  • Participate in code reviews and uphold coding standards, test coverage, and best practices.
  • Build or implement tooling for data quality, governance, and lineage in dbt, Snowflake, and related systems.
  • Provide advanced support when data issues are identified by analysts.
  • Standardize transformation logic in dbt to improve consistency and ease of exploration.
  • Provide data modeling guidance, query optimization, and aggregation advice to analytics engineers and analysts.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in a data engineering role.
  • Strong Python skills, including understanding of tradeoffs and optimization.
  • Strong SQL skills, including CTEs, window functions, and query optimization.
  • Experience working in cloud environments; AWS preferred, with GCS or Azure also relevant.
  • Experience managing complex dbt environments with hundreds or more flows.
  • Understanding of how to structure data for internal and external analytics use cases.
  • Familiarity with calling APIs to retrieve data, including authentication flows, filters, limits, and pagination.
  • Experience working with DevOps to deploy, scale, and monitor data infrastructure.
  • Scheduler experience with traditional or DAG-based systems.
  • Experience using LLM-powered tools for code generation, documentation, and architectural diagramming.
  • Comfort working with multi-TB cloud data warehouses; Snowflake preferred, with Redshift or BigQuery also relevant.
  • Experience with other DBMS systems, especially Postgres.
  • Ability to travel up to approximately 15%.
  • Experience with web analysis and data structures supporting funnels, user behavior, and decision-path analysis is preferred.
  • Understanding of Snowflake external stages, file formats, and Snowpipe is preferred.
  • Experience managing the semantic layer in dbt or Snowflake is preferred.
  • Experience with orchestration tools across different technologies and stacks is preferred.
  • Knowledge of ad tech, Google Ad Manager, or related ecosystem quirks is preferred.
  • Familiarity with event tracking systems such as Snowplow is preferred.
  • Experience with major BI tools such as Omni, Sigma, or Metabase is preferred.
  • Production Rust experience is a strong plus.
  • Hands-on experience with ad tech tools and standards such as Prebid.js, Prebid Server, header bidding, GAM, MCM, consent management, or SSP integrations is a plus.
  • Mobile app SDK experience is a plus.
  • Familiarity with AWS services such as Lambda, ECS, ALB, and CloudFront, or with Fastly, Docker, observability tooling, and CI/CD platforms is a plus.
  • Experience with privacy and consent frameworks such as GDPR, CCPA, IAB TCF, and GPP is a plus.
  • Past contributions to open-source ad tech projects such as Prebid.org or IAB Tech Lab are a plus.
