Description

  • Work with generalists to create 3D art and integrate it into the engine.
  • Support artists in using the 3D art pipeline and user-facing engine tools.
  • Collaborate with artists to create high-quality 3D assets with strong materials, shaders, and surface realism.
  • Review creative workflows and identify opportunities to improve tools and pipelines.
  • Develop Unreal Engine art pipeline tools and extensions with a focus on usability and efficiency.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues within the Unreal Engine asset pipeline.
  • Work closely with artists and QA to diagnose and fix production challenges.
  • Maintain clear, accessible, and up-to-date documentation for artists and technical teams.
  • Help inspire and empower the art team to optimize workflows and processes.

Requirements

  • Strong expertise in Unreal Engine Blueprints.
  • Strong expertise in Unreal Engine materials and shader development.
  • Advanced knowledge of material graphs, PBR workflows, and real-time rendering principles.
  • Experience developing tools within Unreal Engine.
  • Experience building configurators, automation tools, or similar systems.
  • Solid understanding of lighting, reflections, and surface response.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Strong teamwork and communication abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively under deadlines.
  • Fluent in English, written and spoken; German is a plus.
  • Quick learner with a willingness to share knowledge.
  • Self-motivated with strong attention to detail.
  • Naturally curious and proactive mindset.
  • Programming knowledge in C++ and/or Python is preferred.
  • Experience with USD (Universal Scene Description) is preferred.
  • Understanding of automotive shading standards such as car paint, clear coat, and interiors is preferred.
  • Familiarity with version control systems such as Git is preferred.
  • Experience working with premium brands or high-end productions is preferred.
  • Proficiency in additional 3D software such as Maya or Blender is preferred.
  • Automotive industry experience is preferred.
  • Strong time management skills are preferred.
  • Knowledge of shading and materials is preferred.
  • Knowledge of rendering pipelines, both real-time and offline, is preferred.
