Description

  • Evolve and expand Marqeta’s global total rewards strategy to support attraction, retention, and motivation of distributed teams.
  • Lead the design, implementation, and administration of global compensation programs, including base pay, variable pay, and equity incentives.
  • Oversee employee benefits programs to keep them competitive, cost-effective, and aligned with employee and company needs.
  • Conduct benchmarking and market analysis to maintain competitive total rewards practices.
  • Partner with Finance and Legal to ensure compliance with regulations and governance requirements, especially for executive compensation.
  • Provide strategic recommendations to the Executive Leadership Team and the Compensation Committee of the Board of Directors on total rewards matters.
  • Ensure global equity and diversity compliance, including EEO/AA compliance, Affirmative Action Plans, and required filings such as EEO-1 and Vets-100.
  • Drive continuous improvement in total rewards programs by leveraging technology and best practices.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team of compensation and benefits professionals.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in total rewards, compensation, and benefits management, including leadership experience.
  • Demonstrated experience designing and implementing global compensation and benefits programs within the tech industry.
  • Experience working in both large established organizations and growth companies is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of executive compensation principles and interfacing with a Compensation Committee of the Board of Directors.
  • Strategic and analytical mindset with the ability to translate business objectives into total rewards strategies.
  • Hands-on approach with willingness to dive into details when needed.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and collaborate across all levels.
  • High integrity, ethics, professionalism, and commitment to confidentiality and compliance standards.
  • Ability to work remotely anywhere within the United States or from the Oakland office.

  • Base salary range of $282,400-$353,000 nationally, $290,200-$362,800 in Premium locations, and $298,000-$372,500 in Premium Plus locations.
