Description

  • Drive customer solutions that align with business needs and MariaDB offerings.
  • Close business with both existing and new customers.
  • Own the full sales cycle through ongoing engagement with customers and prospects.
  • Maintain an accurate pipeline and forecast of business opportunities.
  • Understand customer and prospect technical requirements and certifications.
  • Manage and accelerate the sales pipeline through engagement with prospects, partners, and key customers.
  • Develop strategic sales plans for assigned territories in line with company direction.
  • Prepare and deliver quarterly business reviews to senior management.
  • Follow up with leads in territory within company SLAs using phone, email, and social media.
  • Travel up to 20% to company and customer locations as needed.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in database, data management, DBaaS, or cloud sales.
  • Experience selling enterprise cloud database solutions preferred.
  • Experience selling open source software solutions preferred.
  • Ability to manage large enterprise opportunities while also closing transactional business.
  • Demonstrated ability to run complex sales cycles and champion within key accounts.
  • Strong business communication skills and ability to communicate the value of complex enterprise solutions.
  • Experience with prospecting and opportunity development tools such as Salesloft, Salesforce.com, Zoom, Marketo, and ZoomInfo.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • Knowledge of cloud databases or data integration technologies preferred.
  • Experience working with partners on complex implementation projects, including global system integrators and packaged software vendors preferred.
  • Working understanding of relational, distributed, and analytic databases preferred.
  • Experience handling commercial and legal discussions with procurement, legal, and business teams preferred.
  • Experience working at a growth startup preferred.
