Description

  • Own graphics initiatives spanning asset compatibility, lighting, shaders, materials, and emerging rendering techniques.
  • Design and build runtime asset translation and cross-platform content workflow solutions.
  • Develop custom Unreal Editor tools, UI extensions, and automated asset pipelines for creators.
  • Solve low-level graphics, optimisation, and profiling challenges to improve performance and visual fidelity across target hardware.
  • Set technical direction through architecture decisions, high-quality C++ code, and code reviews.
  • Collaborate with web, mobile, and cloud-service teams to deliver a cohesive Unreal experience.
  • Mentor peers through technical guidance, documentation, and knowledge sharing.

Requirements

  • Significant professional C++ development experience within Unreal Engine, including deep knowledge of its codebase and runtime systems.
  • Strong graphics and rendering programming background, including Unreal rendering code, RHI, shader development, and GPU performance profiling.
  • Experience building, maintaining, or extending Unreal Editor tools, workflows, or pipelines used by developers or artists.
  • Ability to communicate complex rendering and tooling topics to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Collaborative approach to mentoring peers and sharing knowledge across disciplines.
  • Track record of driving technical progress in a fast-moving product environment.
  • Experience with runtime asset loading or asset interchange technologies such as glTF/GLB or USD (preferred).
  • Experience with real-time replication, multiplayer, or real-time synchronisation (preferred).
  • Experience building, maintaining, or distributing Unreal Engine plugins (preferred).
  • Open-source software contributions (preferred).
