Description

  • Own and drive architecture decisions for embedded camera platforms over multi-year horizons.
  • Architect and govern software running on edge devices, including encoding, storage, streaming, and video retrieval.
  • Serve as the primary technical authority within the Joint Design Manufacturing (JDM) model.
  • Collaborate across Hardware, Product Management, Technical Program Managers, and Software teams to deliver end-to-end solutions.
  • Drive architecture and code reviews, manage complex schedule planning, and mentor engineers.
  • Lead the implementation of camera analytics that turn video into actionable signals.
  • Use AI-driven tools to improve design, coding, and automated testing across the development lifecycle.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of total experience.
  • Proven experience as a Staff or Senior Staff Software Engineer.
  • Deep expertise in embedded Linux environments.
  • Experience with custom Yocto distributions.
  • Experience with video processing pipelines.
  • Foundational understanding of low-level hardware and MCU/RTOS.
  • Experience architecting edge-based camera analytics and deploying resource-efficient computer vision or Edge AI models.
  • Demonstrated success driving technical outcomes in a JDM framework and evaluating vendor capabilities.
  • Proficiency using AI-driven development tools to improve code quality, architecture planning, and team efficiency.
  • Must be able to travel regularly to the Utah headquarters and JDM partners; role can be fully remote or based in Utah or Seattle.
