Description

  • Build and operate the self-service infrastructure platform used by developers and agents to ship software.
  • Own core platform layers including the unified CI/CD pipeline, GitOps delivery with ArgoCD, an IaC module catalog, and golden-path scaffolding for new services.
  • Enable developers and agents to provision infrastructure and deploy changes within guardrails without hand-writing Terraform or Kustomize.
  • Generalize the agent isolation pattern into reusable platform primitives such as sandboxed runtime, workload identity, audit trails, and approval gates.
  • Own the validation platform and quality gate frameworks, including ephemeral PR environments with auto-teardown.
  • Build security, performance, and load-testing frameworks used to validate changes before production.
  • Make gate and test results machine-readable and usable outside the PR flow so failures can be acted on directly.
  • Create internal tooling, observability, dashboards, and operational controls for pipeline throughput, failure modes, approvals, self-service usage, cost attribution, and DORA metrics.
  • Collaborate across teams to translate platform constraints into developer-friendly solutions and documentation.

Requirements

  • Staff-level experience in DevOps, Platform Engineering, or SRE, with a track record of building and operating production platforms at scale.
  • Active, opinionated use of AI development tools such as Claude Code or Codex in infrastructure workflows.
  • Deep experience with Kubernetes, including EKS, and AWS services such as IAM, VPC, ECR, SSM/Secrets Manager, S3, SQS, Lambda, RDS, and Aurora.
  • Strong infrastructure-as-code experience with Terraform and GitOps workflows, including PR-driven apply tools such as Atlantis.
  • Experience with ArgoCD and Kustomize.
  • Experience with identity, access, and policy-as-code, including workload/service identity, short-lived credentials, secrets management with Vault, and policy enforcement.
  • Proven experience building self-service developer platforms, ephemeral environments, CLIs, scaffolding tools, or internal developer portals such as Backstage.
  • Strong CI/CD experience with GitHub Actions, including caching, parallelism, artifact management, test reliability, and pipeline observability.
  • Experience building cost attribution, budgets, or rightsizing into a platform.
  • Excellent cross-team communication and documentation skills.
  • Experience with Crossplane is part of the stated tech stack.
  • Experience with Kafka, Datadog, OpenTelemetry, Node.js/TypeScript, Python, or React is part of the stated tech stack.
