Description

  • Lead the design and development of LLM-powered applications, including chatbots, copilots, agents, and internal tools.
  • Own the end-to-end lifecycle of LLM solutions from prototyping through scalable production.
  • Define and evolve the LLM evaluation strategy, including datasets, benchmarks, automated eval pipelines, and scoring systems.
  • Establish metrics for factuality, grounding, robustness, and user impact.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex failure modes such as hallucinations, retrieval issues, and agent breakdowns.
  • Optimize AI systems for latency, cost, scalability, and reliability in production.
  • Mentor junior engineers and promote best practices in LLM development and evaluation.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with product, data, and leadership to shape AI strategy.
  • Set standards for responsible AI, including safety, bias mitigation, and observability.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in software engineering, machine learning, and applied AI with a track record of delivering projects.
  • Strong Python software engineering fundamentals, including testing, modular design, and dependency injection.
  • Experience taking AI and LLM-powered features from concept through deployment and long-term production maintenance.
  • Experience implementing automated testing strategies for non-deterministic systems.
  • Strong debugging and analytical skills for ambiguous model behavior.
  • Understanding of prompt engineering and prompt lifecycle management.
  • Experience with RAG architectures and retrieval evaluation, and knowledge of LLM limitations and failure patterns.
  • Solid experience using SQL, analysis, and visualizations to inform product decisions.
  • Strong product mindset and ability to understand customer needs to design appropriate solutions.
  • Strong tech leadership, mentorship, and stakeholder communication skills.
  • Experience driving ambiguous projects to completion and communicating technical risks to stakeholders. (preferred)
  • Ability to design robust, production-grade evaluation at scale using advanced metrics and statistical validation. (preferred)
  • Deep expertise in model fine-tuning, adversarial red-teaming, and safety testing. (preferred)
