Description

  • Assist with the review, negotiation, and administration of federal government contracts, subcontracts, teaming agreements, and task orders.
  • Support compliance monitoring efforts and internal audits to ensure adherence to contract terms and applicable regulations.
  • Conduct legal research on procurement regulations, government contracting issues, and agency guidance, and prepare memoranda and recommendations for senior counsel.
  • Assist with pre-award due diligence, terms and conditions reviews, and related contract analysis.
  • Provide day-to-day employment law support, including review of employment agreements, offer letters, separation agreements, and HR policies.
  • Assist in investigating and resolving employee relations matters, including EEOC charges and internal complaints.
  • Support compliance with federal and state employment laws, leave requirements, and multi-state workforce regulations.
  • Partner with HR and People Operations to provide practical legal guidance and update playbooks, internal policies, and manager training materials.
  • Assist with intellectual property matters, including software licensing, data-use agreements, and IP provisions in government contracts.
  • Maintain organized contract and matter management records and support general corporate governance and other legal matters as assigned.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school and active bar membership in good standing in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
  • 2–3 years of post-bar legal experience in employment law, government contracts, or both, gained through in-house or government practice.
  • Working knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and/or federal employment laws such as Title VII, ADEA, ADA, FMLA, and FLSA.
  • Strong experience interpreting laws, rules, and regulations at local, state, and federal levels.
  • Strong legal research and writing skills with the ability to distill complex issues into clear, actionable guidance.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work effectively in ambiguous or rapidly evolving environments.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with internal stakeholders, external customers, and business partners.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States without visa sponsorship, now or in the future.
  • Ability to meet any other requirements for government contracts, including possible background check or security clearance requirements.
  • Preferred experience with GSA Schedule contracts, HHS/CMS procurements, VA contracting, or SBA small business programs.
  • Preferred familiarity with OFCCP compliance and multi-state employment law.
  • Preferred prior in-house experience, especially within a technology or government services company.
  • Comfort with legal technology tools and modern contract lifecycle management platforms.
  • Proficiency in GSuite, Slack, Zoom, Excel, Apple computers, and other remote-work tools.
  • Must reside in one of Nava’s approved states for fully remote work and work from the contiguous United States.
