Description

  • Design, model, and develop the client’s GCP data ecosystem using services such as Cloud Storage, Cloud Functions, and BigQuery.
  • Gather, analyze, model, and document business and technical requirements in direct collaboration with clients.
  • Model data from diverse sources and technologies to support new features and functionality.
  • Design and optimize data storage architectures, including data lakes, warehouses, and distributed file systems.
  • Improve data performance through partitioning, compression, indexing, query tuning, and caching strategies.
  • Monitor system performance, troubleshoot data processing and infrastructure issues, and conduct root cause analysis.
  • Support high-impact data engineering problems and maintain reliable data operations.
  • Train and mentor less experienced data engineers through guidance and knowledge transfer.

Requirements

  • At least 4 years of experience as a Data Engineer working with GCP cloud infrastructure and systems.
  • Deep knowledge of Google Cloud Platform and cloud computing services.
  • Experience designing, building, and deploying cloud data pipelines from databases, APIs, and streaming platforms.
  • Proficiency with SQL, including BigQuery, and NoSQL database management systems.
  • Programming skills in SQL, Python, or other scripting languages.
  • Experience with data modeling, query optimization, indexing, and performance tuning.
  • Knowledge of orchestration and scheduling tools; Airflow is required.
  • Experience with ETL/ELT, data integration, and modern transformation tools such as dbt or Dataform.
  • Strong communication and client-facing skills, including explaining technical concepts to nontechnical stakeholders.
  • Experience with Git, Jira, Confluence, multinational environments, and distributed teams.
  • Preferred: cloud or big data certifications, BI tools, Talend or Alteryx, Apache Spark, Databricks, or Azure.
