Description

  • Train all culinary positions across Lindblad vessels.
  • Develop comprehensive training plans for each culinary role.
  • Implement food provision plans based on ship storage capacity and itineraries.
  • Serve as a fill-in or temporary chef as needed.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and help create individual development plans for galley staff.
  • Interview candidates and support the onboarding process.
  • Partner with the culinary manager to develop training materials, programs, and season-specific order guides.
  • Review voyage menus, guest comment cards, and onboard performance data.
  • Ensure vessels meet United States Public Health (USPH) readiness and compliance standards.
  • Maintain knowledge of galley equipment and ensure proper crew training on its use.
  • Support new hotel leadership initiatives focused on creativity, innovation, and operational excellence.
  • Manage transitions and handovers for incoming chefs.

Requirements

  • Degree in Culinary Arts or equivalent.
  • Culinary and management experience.
  • Maritime shipboard experience preferred.
  • Ability to read, write, and comprehend policies, legal guidelines, correspondence, and memos in English.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to persuade.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Regular travel is required.
