Description

  • Build new features, write code, review code, fix bugs, pair program, and support incident response.
  • Own and be accountable for features and high-leverage engineering projects.
  • Break projects into small, actionable tasks to deliver value quickly.
  • Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and designers to plan upcoming work.
  • Share knowledge through chapter reviews, demos, and mentoring other engineers.
  • Work on common services, shared libraries, tooling, libraries, documentation, and best practices.
  • Contribute to iterative delivery with frequent production releases and continuous improvement.
  • Help merchants by creating and improving products that address customer feedback.

Requirements

  • Senior-level engineering experience, including both successes and failures that inform better decisions.
  • Deep knowledge in at least one backend language such as Golang, Java, PHP, C#, C++, Ruby, Python, or Elixir.
  • Experience with a frontend framework such as React, Vue, Angular, or another JavaScript frontend framework.
  • Understanding of authentication, web security, data models, databases, and how frontends consume APIs.
  • Willingness to learn Golang and React as needed.
  • Willingness to mentor and train other engineers on the team.
  • Experience working with modern web APIs, including GraphQL and REST, is relevant.
  • Experience with modern deployment and infrastructure tooling such as Docker, AWS, Kafka, or continuous delivery is helpful but not required.
