Description

  • Supervise, mentor, and evaluate MD/DO providers across the platform's clinical verticals.
  • Set and monitor physician performance metrics, including documentation quality, protocol adherence, patient outcomes, escalation handling, and incident rates.
  • Partner with the Clinical NP Manager to drive accountability across the physician and NP workforce.
  • Conduct or oversee chart audits and peer review.
  • Serve as collaborating or supervising physician for NPs in states requiring formal agreements and maintain compliant documentation.
  • Monitor state NP scope-of-practice changes and adjust collaboration structures in coordination with legal and compliance teams.
  • Develop, review, and maintain evidence-based clinical protocols and treatment guidelines.
  • Participate in clinical review of new products, service lines, and platform features before launch.
  • Assess new verticals for clinical appropriateness, regulatory risk, and staffing implications.
  • Lead quality, risk, compliance, and patient safety efforts, including incident investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective action plans.
  • Serve on the Quality & Patient Safety Committee.
  • Manage physician administration tasks, including timecards, payroll approvals, compensation calculations, and contract-related coordination.

Requirements

  • MD or DO with an active, unrestricted medical license.
  • Multi-state licensure or willingness to obtain additional state licenses preferred.
  • Board certification in a relevant specialty such as Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Emergency Medicine.
  • 8+ years of clinical practice experience, including experience in telehealth.
  • Experience supervising or collaborating with NPs and/or PAs, ideally across multiple states.
  • Familiarity with telehealth care delivery models and multi-state regulatory/licensing considerations.
  • Demonstrated experience developing clinical protocols or guidelines.
  • Prior Medical Director or similar clinical leadership experience at a telehealth or multi-site healthcare company preferred.
  • Experience across multiple clinical verticals such as primary care, weight management, mental health, urgent care, women’s health, or men’s health preferred.
  • Familiarity with EHR/telehealth platforms and clinical quality metrics/reporting preferred.
  • Experience navigating state-by-state NP scope-of-practice variation preferred.
  • Comfort operating in a fast-moving, multi-vertical environment.
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Ability to translate clinical judgment into scalable, auditable protocols.
  • Working knowledge of telehealth-specific regulatory issues, including DEA/controlled substance prescribing rules, interstate licensure, and corporate practice of medicine restrictions.
