Description

  • Manage and prioritize the product backlog, balancing business needs, engineering capacity, and technical dependencies.
  • Determine and track engineering capacity to support predictable sprint planning and delivery.
  • Coordinate cross-functional discovery efforts for technical initiatives.
  • Write detailed user stories and acceptance criteria for development and QA teams.
  • Lead story refinement sessions and confirm stories are ready for sprint planning.
  • Own sprint planning and coordinate engineering and QA activities.
  • Lead sprint execution and Scrum ceremonies, including standups, reviews, demos, retrospectives, and release planning.
  • Report on IT delivery performance and maintain documentation of sprint backlog, progress, and releases.
  • Partner with software engineers to ensure solutions are technically feasible, scalable, and aligned to architectural standards.
  • Support user acceptance testing and coordinate the release process to ensure quality delivery.
  • Analyze sprint and delivery data to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities.
  • Drive continuous improvement in Agile delivery processes, tools, and team collaboration.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, related technical field, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in Agile software development environments with direct involvement in software engineering, system design, or technical product ownership.
  • Strong understanding of software architectures, APIs, databases, and system integrations.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Proven experience managing product backlogs, sprint planning, and Agile delivery using JIRA or similar tools.
  • Exceptional documentation skills and strong attention to detail.
  • Strong partnership and interpersonal skills with Product Managers, Engineers, QA, and other stakeholders at all levels.
  • Highly self-motivated and organized, with the ability to drive work forward in a fast-paced environment.
  • Previous software engineering experience using .NET, REST APIs, SQL Server, and/or modern front-end frameworks such as React or Angular is preferred.
  • Experience working with combined onshore and offshore development and QA teams is preferred.
  • Familiarity with UI/UX review tools such as Figma and process mapping tools such as Lucidchart is preferred.
  • CSPO or equivalent Agile Product Owner certification is preferred.
  • Based in Las Vegas, NV, or a strong remote candidate in PST, MST, or CST; occasional travel to Las Vegas may be required.
