Description

  • Lead DevOps transformations for enterprise clients, driving adoption of modern engineering practices and removing organizational impediments.
  • Design, build, and maintain CI/CD and build systems (e.g., Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitLab, GitHub Actions) to support automated software delivery.
  • Develop, manage, and test Infrastructure as Code and automation (e.g., Terraform, Ansible, Chef, Puppet, CloudFormation).
  • Implement and operate cloud-native platforms and tooling (e.g., Kubernetes, Istio) across public cloud providers.
  • Implement observability and monitoring solutions using tools such as Prometheus, Elasticsearch, Grafana or Zipkin.
  • Coach, train, mentor, and upskill client and colleague engineers on CI/CD, testing practices, developer behaviors, and platform usage.
  • Guide customers to achieve full end-to-end automation of software delivery and push patterns to minimize technical debt.
  • Solve complex hands-on technical challenges, perform research for unknowns, and create proofs-of-concept to validate approaches.
  • Drive internal growth through knowledge sharing, continuous feedback, and contributing to community efforts (open source, blogging, conference speaking).

Requirements

  • Authorized to work in the United States or Canada without sponsorship.
  • Availability for client travel—typically ranges from ~6 times per year to a few weeks per month depending on client needs.
  • Senior-level experience in DevOps/platform/site reliability/consulting roles (titles such as Senior Cloud Native Engineer, Senior DevOps Engineer, Senior Platform Engineer, etc.).
  • Hands-on experience with build systems (Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, GitLab) and modern source control/branching strategies.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or CloudFormation) and configuration automation (Ansible, Chef, Puppet preferred).
  • Experience with cloud-native technologies (Kubernetes, Istio) and major cloud providers (Azure, AWS, Google Cloud).
  • Experience implementing observability and monitoring solutions (Prometheus, Elasticsearch, Grafana, Zipkin).
  • Ability to perform advanced tasks in a majority of the listed tool areas independently and to train/upskill others; intermediate competency in other areas with ability to learn quickly.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, coaching/mentoring skills, comfort navigating ambiguity, and willingness to learn; community contribution (open source, blogging, speaking) is a plus.

  • Annual base salary range: $110,000–$183,000 depending on experience.
