Description

  • Design, build, test, deploy, and maintain production applications and services.
  • Develop APIs and backend services using Kotlin/Java, Python, Spring Boot, and related technologies.
  • Work with relational and NoSQL databases, search technologies, and large datasets.
  • Contribute to AWS-based distributed systems and microservice architectures.
  • Participate across planning, design, estimation, implementation, testing, deployment, and continuous improvement.
  • Use AI coding assistants and agents for research, development, testing, debugging, refactoring, and documentation.
  • Review AI-generated implementations for quality, correctness, security, and maintainability.
  • Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and stakeholders to deliver technical solutions.
  • Contribute to design discussions, code reviews, engineering standards, and development practices.
  • For senior roles, provide system design, architectural judgment, mentoring, and ownership from design through production.

Requirements

  • Live and work in Quebec province.
  • 2+ years of professional software development experience for mid-level candidates or 6+ years for senior candidates.
  • CS-related degree or equivalent professional experience with strong software engineering fundamentals.
  • Experience building production web applications, APIs, or backend services.
  • Strong knowledge of HTTP, REST, API design, relational databases, SQL, data modeling, and database design.
  • Proficiency in Kotlin/Java with Spring Boot or Python and its modern application ecosystem.
  • Ability to work across JVM and Python technologies.
  • Experience writing maintainable, well-tested production software.
  • Strong debugging, problem-solving, analytical, and collaborative development skills; Git experience required.
  • Experience using AI coding tools such as Claude Code, OpenAI Codex, GitHub Copilot, or comparable agents; repository-level workflows or MCP integrations are preferred.
  • Preferred experience includes AWS, Terraform, Docker, CI/CD, Elasticsearch, microservices, distributed systems, event-driven architectures, Linux/Bash, and large-scale applications.
  • Senior candidates should demonstrate system design, scalability, reliability, security, performance, cost, and mentoring expertise.
