Description

  • Evaluate the target-state domain architecture across multiple products and identify convergence opportunities and paths to reduce technical debt.
  • Design and lead scalable integration strategies between heterogeneous systems using APIs, Kafka, or event streams.
  • Define domain boundaries and service ownership models that support sustainable growth and platform flexibility.
  • Partner with Product and Engineering leadership to align architecture priorities with roadmaps and business outcomes.
  • Lead cross-functional modernization discussions that balance short-term delivery needs with long-term scalability.
  • Decompose monolithic applications into domain-based services or bounded contexts using domain-driven design principles.
  • Define data synchronization patterns, schema evolution practices, and API versioning standards across distributed systems.
  • Architect shared platform services such as authentication, identity, content, and analytics for web and mobile products.
  • Introduce observability, monitoring, and CI/CD standards that support secure, high-quality releases.
  • Provide technical mentorship, architectural reviews, and company-wide guidance through ADRs, domain maps, and shared service contracts.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of progressive software engineering experience, including 3+ years in a senior or principal architecture role.
  • Proven experience designing and evolving architectures in high-scale, multi-product environments.
  • Experience with Rails, Node.js, and React Native preferred.
  • Deep understanding of domain-driven design, service decomposition, and event-driven patterns.
  • Strong AWS architecture experience with ECS/EKS, Lambda, RDS, S3, EventBridge, and SQS/SNS.
  • Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform and CloudFormation.
  • Ability to modernize legacy systems incrementally without relying on full rebuilds.
  • Solid understanding of data synchronization, API design, schema evolution, and distributed systems reliability.
  • Experience defining and implementing CI/CD pipelines, observability stacks, and deployment strategies such as canary, blue-green, and multi-env.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to simplify complex ideas for diverse audiences.

Benefits

  • Salary range of $200,000–$230,000 OTE.
  • Market-based, data-driven compensation reviews conducted bi-annually.
  • Permanent team members are eligible to participate in benefits plans as part of the compensation package.
  • Fully remote work is available for select positions.
