Description

  • Lead planning and execution of 1–3 concurrent North American exploration or development projects annually.
  • Plan drilling campaigns, electromagnetic surveys, reconnaissance programs, and related field activities.
  • Develop procurement strategies, evaluate bids, select contractors, and administer contracts.
  • Create project risk assessments, mitigation plans, critical controls, and execution plans.
  • Lead project kickoffs and manage mobilization, field execution, demobilization, and closure.
  • Direct contractors and field teams through remote, seasonal, and extreme-weather conditions.
  • Track production rates, spending, resource requirements, and contractor performance.
  • Maintain daily communication with personnel, contractors, geologists, data scientists, and planners.
  • Lead site remediation, rehabilitation, lessons learned, and continuous-improvement activities.
  • Ensure compliance with regulations, permits, land agreements, community commitments, and joint-venture requirements.

Requirements

  • At least 12 years of field operations experience in mineral exploration, mining, oil and gas, or a related industry.
  • Advanced knowledge of construction methods for seasonal and terrain-specific infrastructure, including tracks, pads, and access roads.
  • Advanced understanding of helicopter-supported exploration and emergency response considerations.
  • Experience with RFP development, bid evaluation, procurement, and contract administration.
  • Strong knowledge of reclamation, rehabilitation, closure planning, HSE, incident management, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
  • Ability to design and manage complex field programs involving scope, cost estimates, risk assessments, procurement, and execution plans.
  • Ability to supervise employees and contractors in complex and high-risk field environments.
  • Ability to work independently in remote and isolated locations for extended periods.
  • Fluency in spoken and written English; French or other language skills are beneficial.
  • Valid First Aid certification required; Level 3 or Wilderness First Aid preferred.
  • Experience with US or Canadian federal, state, or provincial exploration regulations preferred.
  • Experience with remote logistics, helicopters, camps, weather, charter flights, and drilling operations preferred.
  • Experience collaborating with geology and data science teams and managing projects across jurisdictions preferred.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States or Canada and willing to travel to project sites.

Benefits

  • US base salary of $125,000–$150,000 for the full-time exempt position.
