Description

  • Design and implement stakeholder engagement plans aligned with company objectives.
  • Identify, map, and analyze stakeholders including communities, Indigenous peoples, local authorities, and civil society organizations.
  • Participate in community consultations, information sessions, and multi-stakeholder forums.
  • Build relationships with local communities, traditional authorities, and government agencies to support social acceptance and land access.
  • Support Indigenous and First Nations engagement, consultation planning, and agreement administration.
  • Maintain stakeholder registers, interaction logs, and engagement records.
  • Conduct social due diligence reviews and support social baseline studies, social impact assessments, and risk assessments.
  • Track compliance with social obligations, obligations registers, and commitments registers across jurisdictions.
  • Support audit and assurance processes, reporting, and compensation and community investment tracking.
  • Provide project-level support for permitting, land access, community development programs, and cross-functional coordination.
  • Contribute to social performance procedures, tools, and templates and lead training for non-specialist staff.

Requirements

  • 5-8 years of progressive experience in social performance, community relations, or stakeholder engagement in mining, energy, agriculture, or infrastructure.
  • Experience working with First Nations, Métis, Inuit, or other Indigenous communities.
  • Experience conducting social due diligence, social impact assessments, or human rights due diligence.
  • Strong listening skills and the ability to build trust across cultures and power differentials.
  • Excellent data collection, social monitoring, and report writing skills.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Willingness and ability to travel to remote field sites for approximately 6-10 weeks per year.
  • High integrity, cultural awareness, and professional maturity in a diverse, cross-functional team.
  • Curiosity about mineral exploration and development and comfort in a dynamic early-stage company.
  • Fluency in French (preferred).
  • Working knowledge of IFC Performance Standards, ICMM Mining Principles, Equator Principles, Voluntary Principles on Security and Human Rights, and UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights (preferred).
  • Experience with stakeholder management or grievance-tracking databases and GIS or mapping tools (preferred).
  • Experience with Resettlement Action Plans (preferred).
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States or Canada.
