Description

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive global fundraising strategy aligned with KIND’s mission and growth objectives.
  • Build and manage a diversified portfolio of institutional, governmental, multilateral, philanthropic, and private funding relationships.
  • Centralize and coordinate all non-U.S. fundraising activity to prevent duplication and maintain consistent donor engagement.
  • Identify, cultivate, and manage donors across European and Latin American donor states, development banks, pooled funds, EU instruments, foundations, and corporate partners.
  • Monitor global and regional funding trends and assess fundraising opportunities across KIND’s priority geographies.
  • Evaluate KIND’s readiness to fundraise in new geographies, including legal, procedural, infrastructure, and operational considerations.
  • Develop donor-ready program models and strategic briefs to support leadership and Board decisions.
  • Shape KIND’s international value proposition and tailor messaging for different donor audiences and funding channels.
  • Represent Development in cross-functional strategy discussions and align fundraising with program design, partnerships, advocacy, finance, communications, and legal needs.
  • Co-lead the KIND-UNHCR Deployment Scheme and support the transition of pilot efforts into a scalable, multi-country platform.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 15 years of progressive leadership experience in international development, humanitarian assistance, human rights, child protection, or a related global nonprofit field.
  • Demonstrated success leading large-scale international fundraising efforts with diversified portfolios across government donors, multilateral agencies, foundations, pooled funds, and institutional philanthropy.
  • Proven ability to operate at a senior strategic advisory level supporting executive leadership on revenue strategy and long-term sustainability.
  • Deep familiarity with international funding ecosystems, including donor compliance, procurement processes, multilateral partnership models, joint fundraising mechanisms, and cross-border funding structures.
  • Track record of building and managing high-level external relationships with governments, UN agencies, foundations, and civil society partners.
  • Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally in complex, matrixed organizations.
  • Strong strategic planning and analytical capabilities, including assessing funding landscapes, evaluating readiness, identifying growth opportunities, and mitigating risk.
  • Experience supporting or scaling multi-country, multi-donor initiatives or pilots transitioning to flagship platforms.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate program expertise into donor narratives and funding strategies.
  • Advanced degree in law, international relations, public policy, international development, or a related field strongly preferred.
  • Ability to work remotely across time zones; international travel required.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, such as Teams and Excel.
  • Experience working and communicating in a remote environment preferred but not required.
  • Ability to collaborate, multitask, prioritize, and work with a sense of urgency in a fast-paced environment.
