Description

  • Define interaction and visual design standards for Kickstarter’s mobile products.
  • Design user-centric mobile experiences that balance user needs and business goals while scaling globally.
  • Own and evolve the mobile design system.
  • Bring an international design perspective to the product organization.
  • Partner with the research team to conduct and analyze user research.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align on product decisions and execution.
  • Support the development of a mature ecosystem for Creators and Backers.
  • Contribute to the design of mobile experiences involving storytelling, user-generated content, search and discovery, video, and payments.

Requirements

  • Solid professional experience leading design for mobile apps across iOS and Android platforms.
  • A portfolio demonstrating thoughtful, engaging, and highly usable mobile experiences.
  • Knowledge of platform-specific design patterns and conventions for iOS and Android.
  • Experience designing consumer products for audiences in North America, Europe, and Asia.
  • Experience designing with international privacy laws and regulations in mind.
  • Experience designing for commerce companies with international checkout experiences.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain and defend design decisions to stakeholders.
  • Strengths in information architecture, interaction design, and visual design.
  • Experience using design tools such as Figma and comfort with prototyping.
  • Preferred or valued: empathy for Creator and Backer communities and understanding of the creative process.
