Description

  • Design, build, and scale robust full-stack applications using modern technologies.
  • Make architectural decisions that balance speed, quality, and scalability.
  • Grow, mentor, and inspire an engineering team while fostering a culture of learning and collaboration.
  • Partner with product, design, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions.
  • Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to non-technical audiences.
  • Write clean, maintainable code across the full stack and contribute directly to the codebase.
  • Design and implement integrations with third-party platforms, especially Shopify.
  • Architect and manage AWS infrastructure with an emphasis on reliability, security, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Implement DevOps best practices to support platform stability and delivery.
  • Contribute to technical roadmap planning and broader product strategy.

Requirements

  • Strong proficiency in React, Next.js, and TailwindCSS.
  • Solid experience with Python and Node.js.
  • Experience designing and implementing scalable backend systems.
  • Demonstrated experience building and consuming GraphQL and/or REST APIs.
  • Deep knowledge of AWS, including ECS, Cognito, S3, Lambda, and RDS.
  • Practical experience developing applications using Shopify's APIs.
  • Previous experience building technology products from scratch in startup or entrepreneurial environments.
  • Proven track record of growing and mentoring engineering teams.
  • Exceptional communication skills with high emotional intelligence.
  • Strategic thinking with the ability to balance immediate needs and long-term technical vision.
  • Experience scaling engineering teams from small to mid-size (preferred).
  • Previous technical leadership experience with CTO aspirations or progression (preferred).
  • Contributions to open-source projects or active involvement in the developer community (preferred).
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and modern DevOps practices (preferred).
  • Familiarity with agile development methodologies (preferred).
  • Track record of launching and iterating on customer-facing products (preferred).
  • Experience with database design and optimization, including SQL and NoSQL (preferred).

Benefits

  • Salary range of $180,000 to $200,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
